FORTNITE LEGO: Agora Studio

Agora Studio is an international outstaffing and development studio that collaborates with major game studios worldwide. Through Agora Studio, I worked as a Technical Artist – VFX on LEGO Fortnite, supporting Epic Games by adapting and implementing visual effects from core Fortnite into the LEGO Fortnite experience using Unreal Engine 5.

Responsibilities as Technical Artist:

  • Unreal Engine 5 VFX Implementation: Implement and adapt existing Fortnite visual effects into LEGO Fortnite, ensuring they align with LEGO-specific visual style, scale, readability, and gameplay constraints. Work extensively with Niagara systems, materials, and Unreal Engine VFX tools.

  • VFX Style Adaptation:
    Translate VFX from Fortnite’s core aesthetic into a LEGO-friendly visual language. Adjust timing, shapes, materials, colors, and overall presentation to maintain visual clarity and consistency within the LEGO Fortnite universe.

  • Performance Optimization and Scalability:
    Optimize VFX for real-time performance across multiple platforms. Ensure Niagara systems, materials, and effects comply with Fortnite’s performance budgets, scalability settings, and live-service requirements.

  • Cross-Team Collaboration (Outstaffing Environment):
    Work closely with Epic Games teams as part of a distributed production pipeline. Communicate technical constraints, implementation details, and optimization considerations to ensure seamless integration of VFX into the main LEGO Fortnite codebase.
