What the authorization means
Epic Games runs the Unreal Authorized Instructor program to authorize who can deliver official Unreal Engine training. It is not a course you buy: it takes a written exam scored at 75% or above, the Design & Deliver curriculum, and a recorded teaching demonstration that a reviewer scores.
My demonstration was on Animation Blueprints, which is also what I do in production. The reviewer noted a strong grasp of Unreal's animation blueprint techniques and of debugging them live.
What I teach
Gameplay animation systems in Unreal Engine 5, from the architecture down: Animation Blueprint structure with layer interfaces and linked graphs, state machines for player and AI characters, modular characters where body parts and attachments swap as layers, animation sharing and significance when the character count grows, and Control Rig.
And the decisions behind them: when not to use motion matching, how much cloth a character can afford in a given mode, and why building on Unreal's standard beats building around it.
Who it is for
Animators and technical artists moving into gameplay animation, studios that want their team trained on a production pipeline instead of a demo project, and developers in Latin America who want to learn it in Spanish.
